Which body wood/finish to color match a roasted maple fretboard?

Very nice. Doesn't looks quite as dark as the roasted swamp ash in Aaron's swamp ash video. https://youtu.be/qRow5ZD1CiM?t=181

Which body wood/finish to color match a roasted maple fretboard?

Hello all -- just wondering which of the currently available body woods and finishes you all think would most closely match the color of a roasted maple neck with clear satin finish (shaft and fretboard both roasted maple). Doesn't have to be perfect. Grain is not super important. Tried to...

Which way does Warmoth cut the radius

Up-to-date photo of Warmoth's radius cutting machine: In other news, I read in a different thread that the reason Warmoth doesn't offer 7.25 in. radius necks on the modern construction is that the cutting begins to encroach on the side dot inlays. That implies that sides of the fingerboards...

Which way does Warmoth cut the radius

Fretboard rolling. Been a while since I thought about that. Your experience reminds me of a video I watched recently that downplayed the significance of compound radii, specifically this bit where he puts a 15 in. gauge on the 10 in. radius part of the neck: https://youtu.be/HB-BwUl6W7c?t=555...

Which way does Warmoth cut the radius

Ah the taper. You're right. And I just looked at my guitar's cylindrical radius and sure enough the fingerboard is about 1 mm thinner where it bolts onto the strat body. In any case, it looks like for any given manufacturer, their smaller radius necks will tend to have thinner shoulder areas...

Which way does Warmoth cut the radius

Hmm, I would tend to go with that as my guess too. One piece of evidence in favor of this is that Warmoth advertises specific thicknesses of neck profiles at 1st and 12th frets, without mention of neck radius. This would imply that neck radius has no effect on center thickness, and therefore...

Which way does Warmoth cut the radius

Hello guitarlings I've got a question about how Warmoth cuts its fingerboard radius. My question is best summed up with this picture: If solid line C represents a given low radius neck and dotted lines A & B represent a given large radius neck, does Warmoth cut the fingerboards like line A...
