Semi-hollow, hollow, or chambered is probably the way to go with walnut. Maybe a solid body if planning on playing sitting down. Roasted swamp ash might be a good alternative.
Would a solid walnut Jazzmaster body and solid rosewood CBS neck be obnoxiously heavy? I'm planning a build and want some hard woods, but afraid of the weight. 7 lbs is a comfortable heft for me, but I'm probably headed toward 9 lbs+ with these wood types? Appreciate any insight.
