    stoopid wiring question

rightintheface, I agree with Blue313, the lead and tin alloy 60/40 is by far the best to use especially when soldering a ground on the back of a  pot.  (IMO)  I use a Weller D550 (260/200 watts) gun only for that purpose.  I just touch it for a second or less, and I get a good bond without...

    G4 w/ Piezo?

Ok, I’m still considering a few options here but here’s what I’m thinkin’ of so far… From what I’ve learned, mostly from this board, a piezo won’t play nice with your bass amp without some help from a preamp or other active electronics.  One might be able to get it working by using a 5Meg or...

    Super newbie wiring question

Conductive Epoxy  :hello2: I know this is way late to respond, but I've had great luck with 60/40 lead solder and a big iron.  Lead-free solder seems to need more heat and a very clean surface, but with a dab of solder flux, lead-free or silver works good too.  But if ALL else fails, or you just...

    G4 w/ Piezo?

Hey, you stole my idea… Just kidding, I’m working on a similar project MM pickup with a piezo bridge in a Z Body.  If you really want to keep the BadAss II, you might be able to use Graphtec saddles.  But it will be expensive.  Check out Graphtec.com GHOST SADDLE PICKUPS BASS P/J BASS...

    Setup & Adjustment on a Gotoh 510 Wrap-Around Bridge?

Hi Allen, Has anyone helped you out on your bridge setup yet? I'm working on an L5S build myself with the same bridge.  Its a simple setup to work with if the mounting studs are correct.  This will be my second project with this bridge, I can send some pics in a few weeks if you haven't had...

    Pickup Reccomendations Required!

You're probably right, I was only thinking of trying some used pickups to see what works best.  But I guess you can look for them anywhere, (EBAY)... If the PU Ben ends up with doesn't suit his needs, then it might be a good core if he wants to attempt a DIY winding.  There is a lot of good info...

    Pickup Reccomendations Required!

I think Ed Roman still has some really cheap, (inexpensive $25), used/demo EMG pickups you could probably experiment with...  maybe try winding your own pickups? http://www.edroman.com/guitars/IS_blowouts.htm
