There are some guys who say that there is a difference in tone between woodmount and pickguard/mounting-ring mounted pickups.
Does anyone agree with that?
I never made an A/B test...
Hi Norwegian Guy.
Well, what I will write now might sound as if I am an arrogant smartass who looks down at a newbie.
But I am not.
But just by the way you ask the question and say that you have never adjusted a neck before, shows that you have zero information about the matter.
Your question...
Well thank you, that's very scientific what you do there!
I didn't do all these measurements BEFORE having the pocket routed deeper by my luthier.
But telling by the heighth of the saddles before the routing job, it should have been about 2-3 mm (2.5 mm are 0.0984 inches).
But it has a top on...
Exactly, that was my problem.
Screws all the way up and still a little necessary to have a playable action.
So the only solution was: routing the pocket deeper...
Tell us what you found out...
Well as I said, I described it in a little exagerated way.
These things are differences of 10th or 100th of millimeters. You don't see it at first sight. You note when you try to get a good action and wonder why you never get there. Than you look at it in the luthiers way (all down the head...
Very interesting!
Seems I'm not alone in being alone (The Police, Message in a Bottle...). :dontknow:
I believe that these things can happen. And I also believe that the folks at Warmoth are nice guys and are willing to assume the error.
But once again: Warmoth sells worldwide. And they do it...
Of course it was.
It was is a standard Thinline body cut for standard Tele bridge, with all the holes done.
The Gotoh bridge that I bought together with the body and neck from Warmoth itself is considered to be a 100% replacement for a standard Tele bridge. To be certain I even called the...
I guess I was misunderstood, or I didn't explain it right.
I said the HIGHER frets, starting from the 14th ot 15th fret were all too high, like a raising ski jumping ramp (a little bit exagerated but it might be a good comparison to describe it for someone who didn't see it).
So what the...
Everything I ordered was the mainstream standard. No angled or whatsoever neck pocket.
The neck and the body came from the showcase. The neck was even suggested by Warmoth themselves. You know sometimes when you watch an item, for example a body, they suggest a link saying: "you also might...
Warmoth offer their products worldwide.
For us guys outside of the good ol' US of A it's not very realistic to send items back.
I pay custom fees when I receive the items.
When I send it back the US customs will require custom fees again. And then, when they send it back it's the third time that...
Hello everybody.
After having some experience from modding my old Telecaster so many times (including a Mahogany Warmoth neck) I decided to do a hole new Guitar.
So I planned a Thinline Telecaster, ordered the parts (all from Warmoth), and well, it is done now: a beautiful guitar that plays...
Hello everybody,
First let me say that I am overwhelmed by all these answers to my first post ever in this forum.
Great brainstorming, many ideas that I will take into consideration when starting to order the parts from Warmoth.
Although I wanted to explain better a few things I mentioned, as I...
