Thank you everyone.  I'll probably go ahead and order that, and I also downloaded the template, just to make sure the pickguard is consistent with the Warmoth drawing.

@Logrinn I did read that, however I read that more meaning the body than anything.  But if that's the case, I'll have to order the Warmoth one.  Thanks.

ghotiphry, Yeah, the control plate you have listed as the '54p is exactly what I have from GPF.  Their website has it listed as the Tele bass control plate.  And I meant Tele bass, not Telecaster guitar control plate.  But the plate doesn't fit into the pickguard.  I'll take a pic.

Just got my custom made Fiesta Red '54 P Bass with a matte black pickguard.  But I bought my tele control plate from Guitar Parts Factory, another place I love.  But the tele plate and the pickguard do NOT match!  Is it required that I use the Warmoth control plate?

The color isn't objectionable at all.  it was in fact something that I had as a possibility.  This was my first go round on a TV finish, and the instructions on how were a method devised by Curtis Novak.  Alas they did not work for me. Now I could shoot the blue again, but I'm out  :toothy11:. ...

I am quite disappointed to say that the TV finish did not pan out.  The method I tried uses Polycrylic to build up layers and fill the grain, eventually becoming flat.  That didn't happen, not even close.  Not sure if it's my fault, or just the product didn't work quite right.  The past month...

I decided on Tonerider Vintage P90's in my Jazzmaster.  I heard a lot of good things about them.

Color is done on both the headstock and the body. You can still see a lot of grain through the color So now I spray on Polycrilic.  The idea here is that the Poly will build up in the grain as a defacto grain filler without the dark look.  The result will be a much more subtle grain...
