Thanks. That thread was just what I needed. I found the threaded inserts on Amazon. I also found black screws but I'll need the inserts in hand to estimate the screw length I'll need. But I think this is going to work very nicely.

It really was.  I've gone through the same process in picking out pups for strats and teles.  And while there's certainly quite a bit of variation, there's an underlying sound in almost every set that still makes it sound like a strat or a tele.  I didn't get that same sense with the JM pups. ...

This guitar is a lot of "firsts" for me.  My first Jazzmaster.  My first sunburst (I own 25 other guitars, none are bursts).  My first black pickguard.  My first Canary neck.  And it's the first time I've finished a neck myself.

This will get put together sometime next week.  Chambered JM swamp ash body. Canary/ebony strat neck with 1.75 nut, which I finished with 3 coats of Tung oil. For the pickups, I'm going with the Klein 1965 Epic Series.  Mailman should be showing up with those by the end of the week.

The SKB case arrived today. Still have to put the guitar together but it fits the body perfectly.  Thanks all!

Thanks all.  I was all set to order the Fender brown/gold case and then I ran across a review that said it didn't fit a Warmoth JM.  This is going to save me a big headache.
