    Guitar Shops around Akron

I just moved back home to the Akron/ Canton area but I don't know about any of the guitar shops around here. I've been to Gulia Music, which is more organ oriented, and Canton City Music, whose employees spent more time trying to pressure me into buying some jagmaster instead of just letting me...

    So, what'cha get for Xmas?

Boomerang loop pedal. Also a super sweet damascus steel knife kit with the knife, bookmatched stabilized buckeye blanks for the handle, and interesting mosaic pins. And all I got my dad were some super expensive clamps.

    ANNOUNCEMENT: Gibson styled products

Seeing those diamondbacks I'm happy but at the same time a little disappointed. It looks a whole lot more "metal" now, which kinda kills it for me. The regular SG feels like it bridges the gap between metal and other, less harsh, music to me. I was really hoping that Warmoth would go with more a...

Christmas gifts and a relatively new echo dream

So my Christmas gift (which actually came in the mail a couple of days ago) happened to be the neat little looper known as the Boomerang. I got an original off of eBay for $200, which is so much better than getting a new Boomerang III for $400-500. It's really fun, a little limited in that all...

    Post what you're listening to!

While on the vinyl thing, I think the main thing that's boosted it all is Jack White's entire enterprise, he really is milking vinyl for all it's worth, and I've been hopelessly following that trend. I, for one, got my first vinyl record + record player Christmas 2011, I now own over 70 records...

    Customized Epiphone 1966 G-400 SG

So I got special parts for my Christmas present, I posted earlier because I was having troubles with the tailpiece, a fancy B7 which cannot go on an Epiphone SG, but I chose to defy nature. It has Dimarzio pickups, Humbucker From Hell Neck, Super Distortion Bridge, they're incredible. I had help...

    Bigsby B7 on Epiphone SG G-400 1966

Yeah, that was my thought, but I can't take out those stub-thing-a-ma-jigs and I don't want to actually splinter the guitar from that point. I'm still working it out, tomorrow I'm taking it to my professional-luthier buds to get a second-third-however many opinion.

Went to a gig... WTF guitar tuning?

I'll admit, I've never attempted to do any string locking, or any special thing to keep my guitars in tune. Unless I have them in a weird tuning (like my gretsch which is in C), it'd stay in tune for a decent amount of time. My cheap ass strat even lasts a few songs, but my SG was an absolute...

    Bigsby B7 on Epiphone SG G-400 1966

Yeah, technically, I'm doing everything wrong. But some guys over at EverythingSG have done it, and I always thought that long-tail appearance, like the old SG's, looked a thousand times better than that little B7. I'm probably just gonna go ahead and cut the tail end of my SG to fit, since I...

    Bigsby B7 on Epiphone SG G-400 1966

So, for Christmas santa got me a pair of dimarzio pickups, an allparts roller bridge, and a shiny bigsby b7 + vibrate. The only thing is, the B7 isn't long enough, which is strange. From surfing around the forums I've heard that it's usually longer than the end of the guitar, but in my case it's...

    Crate GX-something rather

Ha, truthfully, I just haven't seen what's so special about Marshalls and Gibsons  ??? Sure, they seem great to me, but I know I can get something just as good,if not better, than them. Speaking of which, has anyone heard of Verellen amps? One day I want one of those on top of an Emperor cab...
