Lots of guitars including very expensive ones use shims in the neck pocket. I like the brass ones that go under a Floyd nut. Try one of the 0.3 mm ones in there.

That Ping looks scarily similar to an Ibanez Edge III, which is not a well regarded trem. From looking at that picture, I'm 99% sure you don't have hardened knife edges, which is gonna be a problem.

A Lo-TRS 2 is considered the worst trem Ibanez ever offered. It's a good thing you didn't try to put an Edge or Lo Pro in there they would not have fit. People looking to replace those use either OFR's or Edge Pros. Make sure you change the garbage studs out as well.

Bringing this thread back, but I have these same tuners and just ordered the standard Gotoh tuner hole size.  They fit perfectly.

No problem.  I used that method yesterday and it worked really well.  He is right though, cit the holes with CA before you put the screws in. I was able to locate the holes decently well with an awl, but running the bit backwards, more than just being safe on the finish, REALLY located the hole...
