It was natural, when you sand it, the grains seems to be lighting, but all of them will pup-up when you oiling on it. no need to worry.

Hi there, If you use hand-wiped, there might need 4-6 layers, and please ensure each layer dry completely. And if you just brush on it, then maybe 2-3 times will be enough.

Tru-Oil and Tung-Oil are drying slowly in cold and humid weather. In my experience, it took around 30-40 mins to dry above 15 C, via hand-wiped, and at least twice of the time if sprayed on. In your situation, it would be best to let coatings dry totally and sand them down, then re-wipe thin...

Gloss +1 In any kinds of high-contrast wood figure, gloss finish will enhance the contrast more and create some 3d-like visual with different light reflex. But satin did not.

The KOA top was great !! Did you choose optional choice top? or decided by Warmoth ? It seems so fancy of the bottom wood-flare! And same with above, I think gold knobs will be just fit this dark-wood color.
