I didn’t do it myself. I just picked the colors and paid a friend of mine to do it with his spray setup. But thank you.
I’ll be sure to post assembled pictures once it all comes together.
Thanks everyone. :headbang:
Alright forum.
I placed the order today, and I went with white pearloid. The deciding factor was that the fretboard inlays are also white, so the pickguard will match and hopefully age consistently with the inlays.
Hey forum.
I need some help deciding on a pickguard, if you would all be so kind.
Here’s the body:
And the neck:
The pickups are nickel covered humbuckers with black rings around them, the bridge is a Toronado and it’ll have mustang selector switches.
My initial instinct was white...
Hey all.
I'm back yet again, and I have a question or two. I'm planning on painting a mustang myself. Last time I painted a guitar myself I used Preval cans and mixed my own colors. That was pretty difficult for me, so this time I'm opting to try spray cans.
I'm going for a solid gloss...
Lots of love for the AxeFx here I see. I've been pretty skeptical of modeling stuff in general. I don't know exactly what it is but something about them just sounds wrong in most demos I've seen. Maybe it was just bad settings? I saw an Andertons video on YouTube awhile ago doing an A/B of amps...
Hey all.
I recently completed a project guitar and I'm looking to upgrade from my current crappy squier starter amp to something more suitable for my new baby. I've looked at a few things, but my needs are fairly specific and nothing fits completely.
Basically, I want an amp that's...
Quick update. Got some sandpaper last night and went from 600 all the way through 2500 grit. Took 2+ hours but was worth the time. Seriously. I wanted to stop at 600, but I ended up going all the way up and it was WELL worth it. I'm reminded of the "true level" scene from the show Rick and...
oh geez! I guess I should have done more research. My bad. thanks for the info.
That's pretty much what I've been doing every string change. Just a drop or two on a cloth and wiping down the fretboard. But I now see doing it that often isn't necessary
.
good to know! I'm actually...
Thank you very much! While it's not much compared to some of the finish work I've seen on the forum, I think I did alright for my first go.
hmm. Good to know. I was really heavily considering sanding it. Overall it feels nice but there's certain spots that feel a bit more rough. I wouldn't run...
Fixed the pictures guys!
I thought about just playing till it was naturally burnished as well. Just not sure if maybe it'd be better to the point where I should just burnish it now, or maybe an oil finish.
I've actually considered an oil finish recently as well. I've been oiling the fretboard...
Hey all. I've been absent from the forum for quite a long time. Sorta forgot about my account here till now. Anyway, last time I was here(probably more than a year ago, my bad :-\ ) I asked about fretboard wood choice on a roasted maple neck. I finally got the guitar completed a couple weeks...
