Love the color. I'm gonna build a Jazzmaster IV bass later this year and thinking to go with olive drab and black pickguard.
I wish Warmoth brings the Meteora in the future. I'd love to build a Meteora bass too.
That's a good one.
I was going to suggest master volume, master tone, and the third knob with a rotary switch to connect/disconnect the middle pickup or something like that.
Or if you use a multi-throw rotary switch, you can do all kinds of crazy additional stuff on the strat.
A concentric pot could also do it, but as the others said already, you're going to have issues with the output voltage levels. Better keep it clean using pure active or passive. There are many options to get you close to what you're after.
Some pretty cool wirings I see in here.
I like trying different options but never got that far.
Lately I tried a simple mod that I think makes a more traditional one a little easier to keep in your mind in the middle of playing.
In a 3 pickup arrangement (SSS, HSS, HSH etc), manufacturers...
Yeah ash varies a lot more than alder and the sound depends a lot on its weight. If you have different amps or use different digital signal chains frequently etc, it doesn't matter. I use the same signal chain for years so every small difference in the guitar is more easily heard.
Man, go for it! Iceman body with Nomad neck sounds killer! Yes, black hardware is the way to go with the Black Cherry finish.
About the bridge pickup. I have an alder Warmoth/Fender strat with that exact same Floyd trem, and in the bridge position I have a vintage Super Distortion. It sounds...
This body looks awesome, great wood grain following the contours etc.
Turquoise would look great I think.
Another favorite of mine which I'd like to do one day is a deep/dark sunburst with wide black and brown areas and a smaller lighter center. I've seen some Fender Custom Shops like that...
Short update. I ordered the DiMarzio Tone Zone for this guitar. I thought since the guitar is so bright, this pickup would be a good match for it. And man, that's the last piece of the puzzle that was missing.
This is the result:
Love the color! I'd leave the insect in, Jurassic Park style. 😜
Yep, if you don't rush and wait until it's dry and sand it, it's easier to get rid of it, but needs patience. I do the same mistake all the time.
