    Unsure about finishing procedure

Best way to avoid posting about how to fix a mistake... Practice on scrap swamp ash!! :) CBs grain filling advice has helped me a lot..... There's plenty available on ebay..... It's worth it to spend a few more bucks on scrap wood than to potentially mess up an expensive body....

    What is it about strats?

Not only is the Strat a beautiful looking guitar...... To my ears, it's the swiss army knife of electric guitars. There are sooooo  many sounds one can get out of a Strat. From twang...to metal...to warm jazzy tones....they're all in there!!

    Your 'baby', your first guitar

My first electric guitar was a Mako strat style guitar. It was red with white stripes(wanabe EVH paint job) and was heavy as hell from what I can remember....I think it's in pieces now somewhere in my parents house. I graduated to a Kramer Focus 3000 after that. It was my main guitar for about...

    Installing tuner bushings

Hmmm, interesting.... Do you happen to have photos of the contraption? I read CB's description but it's not making sense to me... I have Callaham tuners....pretty much Kluson's....and was wondering how I will get them in the peg holes as they are a pretty tight fit.

    Tung oil on Flame Maple?

I can't answer your question....but, being that Im about to assemble/finish my first guitar, I'm not putting a drop of stain, oil or anything on the actual neck/body until I know how things will look and feel first. So, i've bought some scrap swamp ash and birdseye maple to practice grain...
