    GE1996T on Soloist Body

Thanks for the info. It will be a finished body and seems to be I need to sand it or Dremel to fit the recessed Gotoh. You have mentioned some members have used the trem. Did they happen to do dremel or sanding? Any pointer for the forum posts?

    GE1996T on Soloist Body

I had submitted an order for a new body and neck. I did ask for Floyd's Recessed cut. I was wondering what I need to do next to get it to fit with GE1996T. Is it a direct swap with Floyd? I called Warmoth and they said it's not a direct swap and may require some dremel-ing work to make it work...

Thanks, folks. I'm still waiting for the neck. Next Monday will be the 4th week since I have placed the order. Excited to get shipping update from Warmoth.

    Wenge-Rosewood Finish

Thanks a lot guys for the guidance. After reading Cagey earlier post about burnishing, I can come to a conclusion that the steps I need to take in order to do it are: 1. 600 grit first 2. 1200 grit 3. finish with 2000 grit So technically, burnish is all sanding job, isn't it? I also need to...

    Wenge-Rosewood Finish

Folks, I am getting curious about y'all opinion for Wenge Rosewood neck. Should I put a finish on it? If yes, what kind of finish should I apply? Some of folks said you won't need any finish for Wenge/Rosewood neck since the neck itself is considered oily. Some folks said Tru-oil will do the...

    WOOD MOUNTED PICKUPS?

I do have Mahogany as real testing. The titanium drill bit works the best for me so far. I just ordered new 17/64 Forstner bit from Amazon. I'll test that out on the Mahogany and see how it goes.

    WOOD MOUNTED PICKUPS?

I do have the drill press and lowered the speed for wood drilling. Plus I think I got Forstner bit for 17/64 and 1/4. I plan to start with 17/64 and go with 1/4. What do you think?

    WOOD MOUNTED PICKUPS?

Hi Folks, Just want to ask here. What are the suggested steps to drill holes for pickup mounting? Wood mount, no mounting rings, please. I have prepared the EZ-Lok 4-40 Wood insert for Humbucker and 6-32 for a Single Coil. The drill bit size suggested from EZ Lok is 17/64 but I have found out...

Conductive Paint or Copper Tape for Shielding?

Well, I was asking the HSS configuration, one volume, one tone cut, and stud insert install. No battery box and that's pretty much it. I think it's all about waiting for the neck now.

Conductive Paint or Copper Tape for Shielding?

Last week I called them and tried to ask how long it will take. The customer rep said I shouldn't be hearing anything from them until the item gets shipped. If I hear something back from them means it's not good (not bad/worse) but just not good as the customer rep said. This is the second week...

Conductive Paint or Copper Tape for Shielding?

I also read somewhere that the excitement starts when the In Process status changes to In Progress. Is this true? My order is still In Process and trying to keep patiently waiting.

Conductive Paint or Copper Tape for Shielding?

Just quick out of the topic question; What is Warmoth turnaround rate these days for a custom neck build (unfinished since the wood is very oily) and a finished in stock? Any guess?

Conductive Paint or Copper Tape for Shielding?

That is an absolute truth. :party07: It just starts hitting the week 2 now. Hopefully, it will come in week 4. Crossing fingers though. I've seen that people recommending to do the pushback shielded wire with conductive paint as well. I haven't canceled my StewMac conductive paint since I'm...
