It seems that people have stopped arguing about the tone of poly vs. nitro so much.  I think the argument originally came up because people who wanted to be taken seriously as guitarists with good tone were afraid to admit that nitro may feel good or just plain look cool when it's worn out. ...

I'm considering buying a all-maple strat neck and applying the nitro finish myself.  The problem is that I'm in the process of moving and won't have an acceptable or safe work area until July.  How long will an unfinished maple neck last in the box before it is at risk for warping?
