New Warmoth LP setup advice (grounding, post inserts, nut filing questions)

My new Warmoth LP studio which I've been sitting on a little bit, time to get it together. The goal for this particlar project is to do all the setup myself and not bring it into the shop. Girl was laid off, and I have too many guitars to keep paying the local guy. I've done some setup work, but not all.

The nut's an 11/16 Earvana drop-in, so there's some risk for a 1st-timer doing that. Also I've never installed bridge/tailpiece posts but I saw a great thread here on it, but can't find it now. I'm also not sure how LP bridges are grounded. Could use help putting an install plan together to try and avoid any dumb mistakes in those areas.

Things I should probably mention:

1) I have Dan Erlewine's book already.

2) I do not own nut files yet, and the nut in question is a $35 Earvana drop-in I'd really like to get right. The strings are EB skinny top heavy bottom for drop C tuning.

3) The frets are stainless steel, and I will not be doing anything to them unless necessary. The 95% perfect out of the box Warmoths tend to be will probably be good enough for this particular project.

4) I can handle soldering and have wired LPs before, installed tuners, and the rest of the easy stuff.

A set of nut files is going to cost you about double what a nut installation should cost. Normally, that's not a bad place to be when justifying buying a tool for something, but if you're cost sensitive or worried about your own skills, you're going to be better off taking the thing in somewhere and having that done. You can't do this without nut files, and an Earvana nut is the wrong thing to start practicing on.

Everything Cagey said, but also....

10-52's for drop C tuning?

I use 12's in standard....

The G needs to be unwound for me. The bottom end if this set works out to about what a set of 12's are.

Actually works pretty well for what I need. I like the lighter strings to have a little play in them and am pretty familiar with the tuning in that scale on another guitar.
