Ok so here is what I have going on from the good people at Warmoth. I am at the 4 week part of my wait and i'm getting pretty anxious waiting for my body...... They told me 4-6 and I guess they are taking their time on my body
So I ordered a Lefty WGD in maple with a flame maple top. I had them put in an ebony accent stripe, routed for two humbuckers and a recessed tune o matic with the arched string through holes. I also had them hog out the control cavity but no holes for pots or switches.
Here is how I plan to customize and set it up. I am going to inlay an abalone 'purfling' on the top with some about 1/4" in from the edge of the side radius sandwiched between two thin strips of ebony. I will also inlay a center strip on the back with some abalone and some wood inlay strips I have here a walnut and maple diamond pattern. I will toss the plastic back cover in favor of a wood back cover probably cherry as I have a couple of furniture grade sheets of cherry plywood perfect for making back covers. Dimarzio super 3 and a Dimarzio PAF for pickups someone gave me as payment for some guitar work a few years ago. I haven't decided which pickup I will put where, I might even change my mind on the pickups but I have these for now they will be fine. I am going to put a LR Baggs T-bridge on it which has 6 individual piezo saddles for an acoustic tone along with their Control-X module to blend the humbuckers and the acoustic bridge signals together. It will have a TRS effects loop in it like Jerry G's guitars had which sends the signal out of the guitar into your effects and back into the guitar before the volume pot, then another jack out to the amp. I have set up all of my guitars like that and it does work even without a unity gain buffer like Jer used.
As far as a neck goes I am about 99% certain that I will go with a flame maple LP neck and a maple fretboard with some really cool inlay that I found online as well. I won't be buying a neck for a while as the funds need to come in. But these are my plans so far. I also am glad I will have a good template for this body shape as I might build a right handed jerry shape to sell, but I will scratch build the righty. I basically shelled out the money so I could get a good template to build this shape on my own, I will trace it as soon as it comes and make a lexan template of the body to use later. I am eventually going to build a couple of neck through Jerrys but this again will take a little while.
I figure I'm not making any money doing anything else at the moment, so why not try to build some guitars....
EDIT: Thought since I figured out how to add pics I would add some pics of the inlay I plan to add to this guitar....

Fret Markers:
Black lines on this will be an accent stripe of ebony-abalone (most likely paua abalam)-ebony
