Last weekend and this weekend has been this first step into The Abyss.
And as you can see, just a moment or two of distraction and the router takes its toll. I had two gouges along the edge (one at the bottom and the other at the horn), and the one in the neck pocket where the template I was using actually dislodged from the double-stick tape because I applied too much downward pressure.
Also had a bit of a rough improv session with a hastily constructed template for the bridge pickup cavity. Did that before I bought a second, more appropriately sized router bit.
But since I'm going with a solid color on this one, I used wood filler to take care of the edge gouges.
Yeah, this was fun. It's been tempting to start a second one this weekend with the other blank I have!
