    Ziricote Over Goncalo Baritone

I love ziricote too! Although, I am not sure what the best method for cleaning it is as mine has become quite dark with heavy use over the past 8 years. Many people mistake it for ebony now but when it was new it sure was gorgeous. I have tried steel wool but that didn't work so well on...

Winter is coming... and along with it cold dry weather.

A lot of newer houses have air exchange systems so in places like Minnesota (where I lived for 29 years) I did have extremely dry basement conditions but it never seemed to bother the wenge, ziricote, bubinga, bocote or Indian rosewood necks so much as it affected the actual play-ability of each...

    My New Warmoth Regal

Thanks guys, I really missed having a blue guitar since it's my favorite color. I last owned one in 2008 which was a Gibson Les Paul that I loved but had to sell sadly. I really love how this Regal looks, feels and plays. I'm a very happy camper!

    My Current Warmoth Collection

I agree, I love the way the bocote looks with that transparent green on swamp ash! Thanks!

    My LP, LPS and Regal

Yeah it is pretty cool for sure. I agree, it's really too bad because they are beautiful guitars.

    My New Warmoth Regal

I'm really in love with the tone of this guitar. It's brighter than a Les Paul voodoo and not quite as bright as a 2009 Raw Power Les Paul (all maple body and all maple neck). The WLH set really does great in this guitar and the split coil tones are somewhere between a Tele and whatever you...

    Carved Top Regal Bass

Didn't Warmoth used to offer a LP bass? Why not offer a Regal bass? I would definitely be interested in a carved top Regal bass with a music man sweet spot humbucker!

Haha, thanks, I like it too although it confuses a lot of people!

    My New Warmoth Regal

Thanks! I love the swamp ash, it's my favorite bass guitar wood of all time and I fell in love with the old Gibson Les Paul voodoo when I first played it over a decade ago. I never did buy a voodoo though so when I thought up this Regal it was about 6 years ago. Then the lawsuit happened a few...

    My LP, LPS and Regal

Thank you! Yeah that double cut is a Warmoth alright, it is a shame they don't make them anymore! I love these guitars!

    Korina body + Maple top?

That's why I mentioned to try all Les Pauls made from different woods from Gibson. They all have identical neck joints. It's a great way to do the exact kind of comparison we are talking about. Another way all bolt-on neck guitars too, but the idea is to keep the build type, body shape, neck...

    Korina body + Maple top?

It's funny you mention that. I know a guy who did that and I matched all the recordings correctly with their respective woods/guitars. Some people hear it, some people don't.

    Korina body + Maple top?

Well, it's harder to notice the differences on woods that are similar or in the similar tonal range but an example that is unmistakably different is easy to find. Go play a Gibson Les Paul Studio without a maple cap, I don't know, from the mid-2000's. Standard mahogany body, mahogany neck with...

    My first attempt

Regarding the buzzing, you may just need to have a tech set the guitar up with proper relief. It's usually something that can be fixed by adding some relief to the neck if it's just the 1st or 2nd frets.
