Did y'all see Roger Waters tonight at the benefit for Sandy relief?
His guitarist had a great tele, three pickups with a rose and vine wood burn artwork on it.
Nowhere near as cool as Greg's, but it sure made me think Greg might have a cottage industry on his hands.

By the way, Waters and Co. was the bomb.  They lost me at Clapton.

I hate to hear that about Clapton.  My Mother-in-law's Christmas gift to me is going to be Clapton tickets for March.  I'm wondering what incarnation it's going to be.  He did a Derek and the Dominoes themed tour with Derek Trucks playing the part of Duane Alman, and his last roll through town was with Steve Winwood.

I'll admit, my world didn't immediately have purpose when confronted with Clapton tickets.  Paint by numbers and going through the motions have been descriptions of his last 2 decades, but I have more or less been a fan of most of his body of work since I picked up a guitar.  I've never seen him live and he won't be around forever.

On a sidenote, you should see how my Mother-in-law lights up at the mention of Clapton.  She lends credence to the "Paul was the cute one" camp, but "Clapton was beautiful!"

Roger Waters set was good , GE Smith was playing bass and Tele  .  Roger was a bit caught up in narcissicm , but that's to be expected.
Clapton was OK .. I've seen him several times and I think he's lost a lot .

Yeah, there was a huge amount of "rock-star" going around, that's for sure.  Nobody was there to sell records, they were there to show off.
Caveat: I've never been a Clapton fan, even though I hear him play so many of my own phrases!  :toothy11:

For a Pink Floyd cover band, though I thought those cats did a pretty good job.

I did not see the concert-Iwas in the swamps of Louisiana without a TV (and happily so) but I did hear about it and the guitar from my girl-and she said the same thing you did (but of course she's prejudiced, I hope!). Thanks for the compliment!  Greg

I missed the Sandy benefit concert, but I was fortunate to see The Wall thus summer. My brother took my mother and I this past summer.

Sound was great, production incredible. I liked how they "jammed out" Another Brick II out a little bit (giving their lead guitarist some improvisational freedom). Pretty incredible tone too!"

Could it be this one? :)

Dave Kilminster is the guitarist himself and I gotta say, he delivered some very nice solos...  :icon_thumright:

Kilminster's terrific, very humble, too - he posts a lot on the gear page.  From the gear section of his site (http://www.davekilminster.com/gear_2011-12.html):

'Rose'

The 'Rose' Suhr is still my main electric guitar, with 'Bernadette' (which I burnt using a pyrography kit) acting as my spare guitar. 'Rose' Suhr is a telelcaster style body, with three pickups and a trem so I can get all those fab Strat noises as well!!! This guitar sounds much more authentic for the Roger Waters gig, plus it's the most musically versatile guitar I've ever owned...

Specs:

Swamp Ash body
1-piece Maple neck
Custom soft medium V shape - .800-.850
10-14" radius
Jumbo frets
1055 bridge
1.650" nut width
Chrome hardware
Sperzel locking tuners
No pickguard
T control plate with 5-way
V60LP neck
V60LP middle
Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge

Nice looking guitar. I looked up a video of Dave where he showed off his guitars, and he's also got a nice swamp ash one (at 2:50) that he woodburned the grain patterns into.
