This build/assembly is based on an excellent condition 1974 Fender Ash Hardtail Body signed by Blues Legend Johnny Winter and equally talented multi-instrumentalist brother Edgar Winter.
The neck is a fantastic Warmoth Pro Construction 21 fret CBS quartersawn flame maple, Indian Rosewood board, 1 11/16" width, Boatneck profile equipped with a 6105 SS fretwire, bone nut, single string tree and Fender vintage top load tuners. The neck was setup with the board edges and fret ends radius rolled to around the 14th fret, finish is a light amber nitro tint and clear coats. The Pro Construction neck is secured to the 3-bolt body with a rock solid ProAttach.com Kit. Inserts and machine screws replaced the upper 1 3/4" wood screws. To achieve a correct neck angle the neck pocket underwent an epoxy tighting/angle procedure, How-To link: http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=15732.msg228546
The original finish body has a Fender 57/62 USA vintage hardtail bridge, signed Guenther jack plate, original Fender strap buttons drilled for beefier #8 screws and original '74 string ferrules. The pickguard is a Fender cold-gold anodized aluminum, pickups (found during winter time in Alaska ) are a set of '80s Van Zandt Blues-wound controlled by snow white Fender knobs, covers, switch tip and CTS pots, 3-way switch, cloth wiring. Strings are .010 - .046 GHS Nickel Rockers. A custom serial numbered 1B9O7D4Y neck plate completed this time consuming and expensive project. Plays exceptionally well.
IMO...When a guitar is dismantled it's usually because the seller can get more for the parts than the entire assembly. When parts are changed outside the factory and over the years the originality is gone, etc. For those who think they can restore such guitars by adding date coded parts they are only fooling themselves and the unfortunate person who buys the patchwork. To have purist collector value the instrument has to be in excellent condition in its original case with dated receipts and has not been tuned beyond concert pitch and left in a closet for decades, etc.
