any idea where i can get p90 covers in white?

i don't think that the traditional cream/black covers will look good on a olympic white jazzmaster with a red pearloid pickguard.

appreciate the feedback.

? i think that either black or creme would look great on the guitar.

try it out on kisekai, and see what you come up with

would "vintage white" more complementary to the cream pickup covers than "olympic white"? or which shade of white would go well with cream pickup covers?

honestly, your better off searching for pickup covers that suit the guitar, rather than finding a finish that suits the pickup covers LOL.

check out your options on kisekai...

they dont have a jazzmaster, but you can still get a good idea based on the strat model.

You could just get cream ones and spray paint them to match the body.  I've only ever seen cream and black.

nope its not a good idea in my experiance...

my first guitar was a black squier strat with a white pickguard.
i ended up spray painting the pickguard flourescent orange with silver edges, and i painted the pickup covers black with model paint (brush on)

both the model paint and the spray paint wore off very quickly, i wouldnt recommend it.

Could try soaking them in bleach... though that might dissolve them or something.  ???

kinman pickups are made so that you can dye them with coffee and stuff like that, although i dont think that you could turn them white or anything.

i dont think that bleach will whiten plastic, it would just clean it.

Cream P90 covers on an olympic white jazzmaster is perfect! http://www.warmoth.com/gallery/galcontainer.cfm?id=587
Nothing wrong with it at all (no that's not mine).
I would LOVE a cream P90 on white jazzmaster, after I finish my bass, get a baritone tele, a jazz box, and a 12-string, and a nice martin, and a decent amp or two. Gotta have priorities.

I say buy a couple cream ones (they're cheap) and experiment with turning them white.  Paint, bleach, whatever.  You can also see how the cream looks with the white... maybe you'll like it.  I like the one tfarny showed.  :)

hey thanks for the link - yea it looks fantastic. great!!!

a different question : isn't the strat bridge a bit to the center of the body leaving a bit too much space behind it - somebody mentioned this in another thread. so aesthetics wise is the traditional jm bridge/tremolo the only option?

not sure what you mean - can you give me the exact link within the site?

thanks.

that is the exact page, but it always takes you to a different page first...
what you need to do is click the "english" button, and then click on the "KISEKAE Virtual Guitar Modeling System" link.
you will have a list of different guitars, i think that the strat model is closest to a jazzmaster based on whats available.

and of course, once you open a guitar model, you have to hit " i accept" first.

"so aesthetics wise is the traditional jm bridge/tremolo the only option?"

Uh, no! aesthetics-wise you can do whatever you want unless  you want it to look exactly like a jazzmaster, in which case  you need to get a jazzmaster bridge obviously. You have to choose looks or playability in this case. Maybe the warmoth 'mustang jazzmaster' bridge will satisfy you, it was designed for this purpose exactly.

how about a tune-o-matic - being two pieces - the bridge and the stop bar - it will spread more evenly over the jm body than a one piece strat bridge, right?

but will there be a conflict between the warmoth strat neck/jm body and a standard tune-o-matic - what wil f-spacing etc?

appreciate the feedback.

No.

f spacing is mainly in regard to pickup pole piece spacing - since some trem bridges have slightly wider spacing. It won't matter to the neck what kind of bridge you use.

I thought you wanted p90s? There's no "F-spaced p90". They're all exactly the same size. Non-issue. Just get the bridge that you want. Hell, Willyk put a telecaster bridge on his jazzmaster.

on their showcase warmoth has a body already routed for the standard jm bridge/tremolo. can i installed a tunomatic on that with a jm tremolo? are the measurements the same?

That can be done BUT you will probably have to plug the mounting holes for the JM bridge and re drill the mounting holes for the studs that will hold the Tune o matic (and no, I don't think Warmoth will do this for you on a showcase body  :dontknow:). I doubt the posts on the Tune o matic bridge will simply fit into the JM holes that Warmoth have already predrilled. Maybe ring Warmoth and ask them what the JM bridge hole dimensions are, and compare that to the Tune o Matic you want to put in there?

Cannot find any white P90 covers but found a chrome cover. As you will have chrome on the trem of the JM, maybe this will match the looks you have in mind?
