Rear rout strat, 3 strat pups, dark fretboard tbd. hardtail bridge, standard strat controls. My initial impluse is vintage white but I like oly (classic) and pearl (shiny!) too.
Depends on the color of the hardware and pups. Vintage white, Chrome hardware, Aged or parchment pickup cover. Olympic white, black hardware, black pups. Pearl white, gold hardware, black pickups. I say go with pearl. :headbang1:
Pearl White is awful.
Vintage White doesn't quite look right if it's to be a rear routed Strat.
Olympic is ok, but I think a nice pure Alpine White would look better.
+1 on the Alpine White. If you're going to do white, do white. Don't nibble around the edges. And put black hardware on it. You'll be glad you did. Chrome's too cold for something as stark as white.
Here's one in Alpine White w/ black hardware, although it's a top-route...
Ebony over pau ferro neck, 6100SS frets, Gordon Food Service pickups... it's my favorite at the moment. I'm gonna get rid of those pickup switches, though. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but but reality has since taught me a lesson. I bought a stack of pickguards last week to get rid of them on all the Strats I put them on, and go back to the 5 position knife switches. Consider it my nod to vintage gear <grin>
Anything but pearl! I think Oly is such a classic can't go wrong color. More stuff goes with it too.
The top route is an interesting choice. I'm curious about the details... One pickup? Humbuckers? Something unique? What is your intention for use on this one? New guitar means opportunity to explore something different. I would love to see a single horseshoe pickup guitar.
Tim, I'm going to send you the number of the strat addiction hotline. :laughing7:
Wow Ken, I'm surprised, I voted pearl. My motorcycle is pearl white. My next build is gonna be a 7/8 pearl white strat, and guess what, Mr. Anything but pearl, I'm putting your pups in it, and I want pearl white bobbins, or flatwork I guess.
