For my next act of Warmotholicism (is that a word?) I thought I would start with a smokey bit of Black Korina w/ Macassar Ebony.

Obviously not finished yet, but nice character!

Add to that a really smokey Black Korina body...

And there is bound to be some FIRE some place!  :evil4:

Heard so much on here about Tru Oil, I thought I would give it a try! Thought I might do a little grain fill this weekend and then I can get started smearing the oil around! :icon_biggrin:

Haven't made any decisions about hardware yet. Thought I would see how it looks oiled up first. Any suggestions? :dontknow:

Also, I went with Fralin Blues Specials on the last Tele, mostly because I didn't know anything better to do. But, I was very happy with them. Still, I'm thinking I might experiment with some different pickups this time. Any suggestions here from our Telecaster experts?  :dontknow:

Anyway, If all goes well I might just have another Flamin Telecaster before too long!! :guitarplayer2:

@Tipperman - Which of the 4 Blackguards do you recommend, Flat 50, Flat 52, 55 Stagger, 68 Stagger? I listened to the clips and I'm leaning towards either the Flat 50 or the 55 Stagger.

55 Stagger. To my ears it's the classic 1963/1965 tele tone. Don't go with anything other than 55 Stagger. Best thing I ever did to a telecaster. Ever.

Now I just got to decide on hardware.

But, guess I'll get to that after I see it all lathered up in oil!

What about the 1st pic, with a black neck mount ring with chrome neck pup and black knobs & switch.
Still using the chrome bridge with black bridge pup and tuners  :icon_biggrin:

I like the all black hardware version, it gives it the charred look to go with the fire.  But it does need something else, maybe chrome pickups?
