I've quickly become a big fan of schaller, and I want to Kit out my build with mostly their parts...

but as I've cruised their site... I've found a Finish I'm GASing on. Badly.

VC12%20001.jpg

I've tried all the regular places, and then some pretty irregular places. trying to get a line on where I can get parts in this finish.

I've found support for Schaller to be spotty period. and this finish NO WHERE.

I've tried looking into buying directly from them. but as I hoped to buy it little by little. that seems to be a bad Idea...

also, I couldn't figure out how to make the SCHALLER SHOP stuff work...

Anyone wanna give this Noob a Clue?

XD!

I KNOW!

I want to do at the least my Pickup covers, bezels, bridge and tuners in that!  (though on their website they seem to make EVERYTHING but string ferrules in that. and I mean EVERYTHING.)

I think against a Gently stained black Korina Body, it would look amazing.

Schaller is frustrating that way. That's not the only finish they advertise that's desirable but nearly impossible to find. Check out these ruthenium parts. They call it ruthenium, but I think that's just German for "unobtainium". You can't buy the bloody things anywhere.

Sometimes I think they just like to tease us...

Did you call Allparts? GC should be able to order them as well. Its probably best to order it all at once given the obscurity.

Dude! I want some of that!  :headbang1:

DO NOT BUY FROM ALLPARTS. Not unless you want to pay 300% markup and wait for 3 months (and I'm not kidding about those numbers).

I had to deal with the owner and CEO of Schaller himself to get my stuff, hopefully you won't need to jump through those kind of hoops.

BTW Cagey - you can now find Ruthenium trems on Ebay from a Italian store/dealer - but thats all they're selling I think (I don't know about things
like the locking nuts, etc.).

I know! It's sweet-looking stuff! But, good luck finding any. I suspect it's as expensive as hell anyway, which may be why nobody stocks it. Ruthenium is pretty rare, being a subset of platinum, which is also pretty rare.

Have you gone through this list?

Fail Jack. For Allparts, see my comments above. Stew-Mac will not custom order Schaller parts. (I know, I asked).

Given that the average  spot price for Ruthenium for thew last 30 days was US $215 AN OUNCE (28.35 grams), US $800 for all the hardware, while rather extravagant, doesn't seem all that unreasonable.

Oh I know - expensive shit ini't?  :icon_biggrin:

But it LOOKS bad-ASS. :headbang1:

And I got all of my stuff for considerably less going directly through Schaller. I was going to go the Allparts route - but the few emails
I traded with them led me to believe they didnt have the first F-ing clue... about anything. Nevermind the asinine pricing or delivery time
quotes. /shrug

Hopefully the Vintage Copper costs less, as it seems to be a purely aesthetic finish.

Sigh...

When the time comes, I guess I try to stalk Schaller directly, and if that doesn't work... I then stalk a European member of this board...

even though, you all seem pretty trustworthy... that's just... stressing...

Oh yeah man, no worries. Your stuff should be waaay cheaper, its not made out of (coated, really) a precious metal. ;)

Your real problem is that its not Black, Chrome, or Gold - so you'll just have to send off a few more emails to get what you're
looking for, and pay a little more to boot. As suggested, if Schaller won't deal with you directly (they did for me /shrug), you
can try some European contacts, perhaps a Schaller dealer in Canada if there is one?

Believe me I know exactly what it means to see something and just be all "I want THAT. Now."

Good luck in your search, it'll be all worth it once you have the box in your hands.   :rock-on:

I just found out Schaller makes a Piezo...

I wonder how one of those would sound stashed away on a Black Korina HxH guitar...
:icon_scratch:

IDEAS.

I dont believe the schaller shop is up anywhere just yet, cause on the shop page at the bottom it says coming soon or something like that,
So maybe the shops not working yet?  :dontknow:

Well, I wanna wait for Warmoth to get Black Korina neck blanks back in stock. so I don't have to worry about the body just yet,

I'd just like to know how much all the parts I need from schaller will be, So I can start saving for THAT.

they don't have a nifty BUILD IT menu like warmoth!

Given that WARMOTH sells a fair selection of Schaller parts, this would be a prime oppo for a WARMOTH representative to step in and see about special-ordering parts for their customers... :laughing7:
As long as you are willing to pay for the parts, and their time, and as long as Schaller & Warmoth are in business to actually sell stuff, well... it's a win-win-win scenario! :headbang:

And next week, World Peace....
