Ok, so I slapped this baby together and I'm just not feelin it. I finished it in Tru-oil and shot some satin lacquer over that. The guitar is very resonant and sounds great unplugged. I mocked it up so that I could situate the controls and whatnot but it is just way too plain I think. I have a nickel PRS trem on it with some zebra Santana II pups. The top is really plain. I was thinking of maybe a nice honeyburst or some kind of a two-tone thing. Give me some advice :occasion14:

I agree with you, it deffinately needs some color or something, especially with that all maple neck. I think honey or tobacco burst would look great with that. That's a great looking body too! Did you make it? Where did you get it?

It really is just plain old too high key and monochromatic. The best help for this thing is going to be something very dark, if not black (no need to go solid color, though . . . any burst with black as the outer color would really make this thing pop, IMO . . . especially with that bigger, rounded body.)  :icon_thumright: Other than finishing, though, it looks great  :occasion14:

Thanks guys. It's a Gluff body from ebay. The guy's name is Eric Angluff. His work is great. At first I was thinkin maybe just black hardware might do the trick. :dontknow: I have also been kickin around the idea of doing some sort of variation of the Schroeder Chopper paint scheme.

I'd consider having a two toned burst or an older vintage styled burst that Gibson have, and have the neck amber tinted, with the headstock matching the body burst.

With the plain grain I view this body as a perfect one for a very classy burst over. The grain underneath won't detract from the top burst you put on it. :rock-on:
