I didn't look all that closely at the '96 stylee website, but spontaneous reaction: what's wrong with ears?

It's a clever way to find it, but the difficult part for me has always been in the fixing not the locating.

That's kind of what I thought.  It's cool that someone bothered to come up with it, but at the same time, I don't really think it's that hard to find the fret in question just by listening for it.

I have one of those continuity testers already.  Just need an LED and some buzzing frets.

very cool idea, but as has been said it's always the fixing thats the hard part i think. definitely interesting though
