What other discussion boards do you guys use?

this is the only one I check on a very regular basis!!
there are some others I go to every now and then..

I use  A LOT of Forums.

I have a Steampunk one,
A Comics one.
One that I just left because talking to Girls gets boring/dramatic.
Questionable Content (Web Comic Forum)
one for a band called The Birthday Massacre
One for Other Gothic music
THE FACEBOOK.

those are my major ones.

I recently joined GreenPower Science forum, I thought it would be like this forum, except with people talking about solar steam generation , solar hot water, photo Voltaic etc....

But every thread is full, and I mean full of spam and useless posts, I'm talking about posts that make no sence in any context, It's really depressing, I was hoping to meet a bunch of like minded people there, like there is here.

But the moderator evidently does not police his site enough or even at all. It really makes me appreciate all the more, how well Wormoth runs this forum for all of us and we should not take this place for granted.

=CB= may be able to speak to all the hacks out there, as I believe most of the spam on that forum is auto generated, because no one person can post so much dribble in one day as I've seen on that site, It's a shame.

in case your interested in how bad it can get    http://greenpowerscience.com/forums/

holy sheets.

it still say s phpBB in the corner.

thats not a Forum, thats a Forum seed, covered in the Mold of spam.]!

i used to frequent a video game forum, but the posters were all 13 year old kids who thought they were the greatest gift to the earth and way too cool for their own good. so one day my account mysteriously disappeared (not banned or anything, just literally never recognized my username again). so now i only check music forums. this one is like home :icon_biggrin: it's kind of a close community and everybody is pretty civil. so this is my favorite, and the one i check twice as often as the others.

i also really like TDPRI (because i'm a tele kind of guy) and the seymour duncan forum (found on their webpage). the gear page forum is cool, but a little too arrogant for me. i still check the posts pretty often though.

The only other musician-oriented site I spend any time on is The Gear Page. Almost all the other musician-oriented sites I've seen are mainly populated by highly opinionated foul-mouthed teenyboppers who seem hell-bent on spreading misinformation and have little or no interest in furthering the art.

Other than that, it's computer-oriented or political sites.

Besides here, I like to visit the Project Guitar forums at least once a day.  Lots of great, homemade guitars there.

Non-guitar sites:
Twin Cities Mustangs
Lincolns of Distinction
E85 Performance
Northern Brewer

Other than this site, I just registered on the Fender discussion page

I do not go to any other guitar forums much, I find they are all about attitude and full of posers, this place is not about playing so when someone post up a video or sound file it is usually a real example of their work, and we accept it no mater how good or how bad it is. That is true, not like the stuff I used to get t other forums which was a lot of ripped off stuff posing as someones work, or if someone put his real stuff up there and he was not as good as Satch, he was ripped to pieces.
So I stopped visiting them long ago

I do go to a couple of Jeep sites, I am a CJ fanatic and own 2 CJs that are over 40 years old. So I go for the support to keep them in good shape and running

I started coming here to learn to build a guitar, I decided that I wanted what I wanted, not the current production model from a company who is driven by sales.
I got addicted by all the GAS, I also love the way guys here help each other, Most of the raging is tongue and cheek. It seems to be a good site where we respect others opinions, I mean, we do a bit of bashing but overall we respect others not agreeing with us.
I love the monthly contest with the Axes, and love everyones comments, I also like the monthly sound files contest, though I still need to figure out how to use the mixing program I got on this laptop.

I'm a Jeep nut, but Pirate 4x4, Jeepforum, and so on seemed lacking in intelligent Conversation... so I kinda gave up on them after I sold my Jeep.

both those forums I do not visit
I go to Early CJ5 dot com and Jeep-CJ.com
not so many posers with old jeeps as there are with new ones anyone can buy. A CJ you need to actually work on all the time so lots of the guys sell them after a while and buy a new Jeep

Eh, I like CJ's fine. but I can fix a TJ just as often as one of those... and did. wheeled the crap out of it. took it apart and put it back together and drove it to work every day. Old, new. I don't mind as long as it does what I want.

the TJ is really the last jeep to feel like a jeep, this new one is neat... but I no longer am able to fix EVERYTHING in it. which was always kinda the point of Jeeping over say... Bronco'ing.

Ok here goes.

To all the hacks out there - GO AWAY

There, that'll do it.  Glad that got done!

Guitars - pretty much Warmoth, and LesPaul forum

My TJ was top of the line, locked and loaded
Nth Degree, OBA, On Board welder, Warn winch, the list could make this post real long, Armored up the wall I had over 40 gs in mods
Totaled it one day and got a JK Rubicon, what A Joke broke the rear axle 3 times in 2 years, had issues that a TJ never would due to electronics and such, sold it for what I owed after 2 years
and started back wheeling my 67 CJ5, I always have run around in my 70 CJ6, yes a CJ6 as my DD and it is lightly moded, 2 inches and 33s. the 67 thoough has the list of mods from hell

My 99 TJ was fun, I bought it used from someone who took the mods off before he sold it... but being cheap, he left me the Lockers and 4.11's... not wanting to pay the price to take them out.

in a Wrangler with 30 inch tires...
the thing hauled, off the line it would even cream some sports cars.
got horrid mileage because of it. but I enjoyed the freebies.

I Busted a Proportioning Valve in the ABS, and could never find the part to fix it. so i had to wholesale it, lost 5,000 dollars on the loan, that I then put that loss into a Scion, I've had the scion a year and actually already owe less than its worth.

so I'm thinking of selling it. buying a CJ-7, then buying an aftermarket CJ-8 tub/frame and MAKING it work together.

so hard to find a Real CJ-8 for a good price thats not a Rusty basket case...

I've been lurking a lot on the TDPRI forums over the past couple of week..
the home depot page is really addictive .. and time consuming.

Musically, we have a private BBS comprised mostly of former Plexi Palace BBS-ites who grew tired of the personal politics exhibited.
