As I sit at home and "work remotely" I try to look on the bright side that I can take a guitar break more readily. Got me thinking about what may qualify as a "guilty pleasure" instrument. I'm a strat player and am pretty much addicted to a traditional strat neck pickup. But I have this one guitar with an single EVH Frankenstein in the bridge position. I play it on the clean side most of the time and find this guitar to be a fun anomaly in my small collection.
I think it has a poplar body and it has a standard thin Warmoth neck fronted by Wenge. i don't know what it is about this particular Standard Thin neck but it literally makes me smile to play this one and I have a couple of other Standard Thins that are just fine but there is just something about this one that feels so great and inspires me in my playing. Who else has a guitar that is outside their usual choice that they enjoy like this?
