What is gilmour playing here?

This used to be one of my favorite songs back in the 80s!! I can actually vividly remember seeing this clip for the first time on german tv!
can't get much better with Gilmour, Pino Palladino and Simon Phillips on drums

anyway, I know Gilmour has a huge collection of fenders, but this definitely doesn't look like a stock fender
does any David Gilmour nerd here know the story behind it?? I think I want to replicate it

Doesn't look much like a Fender at all. Could be a Charvel, maybe a Schecter.

Looks like a Charvel or G&L. Hard to tell from that video. Probably was just an "on-hand" guitar he used, I don't think it was actually his guitar, never saw him with it again.

Probably a Charvel, not a G&L, wrong headstock for G&L.

Agree it's definitely a Charvel, you can actually see the shape of the logo on the headstock.

For Dave, it could be anything.  Maybe a Charvel, maybe a Fender Custom Shop order.  Maybe a Ghost build.  Who knows, but Warmoth could do that in their sleep.
