I played with an acoustic in Guitar Center that was kind of like this! Had chorus and reverb. It was really... weird. It actually sounded halfway decent and was fun but a little gimmicky.

Don't see why not.  Might get a bit of feedback though

Yeah - one of the ways to kill a feedback loop is to insert a delay into it. And most effects are delay based so ... yeah - this thing could have 30ms predelay on everything and you'd probably never notice it because of the nature of the effects.
