Weekend Tele build

I was lacking a Telecaster, and decided to build one. I already had a Tele neck that I was looking to put to use, so I found this in the showcase:

Quilted maple top on mahogany
Arm contour
Belly contour
Neck contour
Blue Burst top with Trans Blue back

The neck is roasted flame maple with a figured ziricote fingerboard, 59 Roundback profile, 6105 frets, Fender locking tuners

Ordered the body on Nov 18th, got shipping notice on Nov 22. Got on Amazon and ordered all the parts. Received all but pickups on Saturday. Body came in Monday, Nov 25th.

First order of business, cavity shielding:

Parts ready to go:

Wilkinson bridge with compensated saddles
CTS pots
Treble bleed

Pickups installed. I wound up going with SD Alnico Pro II, Jerry Donahue bridge with APTR-1 neck.

Had it strung up Nov 29th.

That Donahue pickup should be a treat.  I played one in a partscaster that showed up in a local shop, and it was so nice.

I found this neck in the showcase about two years ago for $250. Pretty much an insta-buy.

It looks very good. Is it the same neck in the photo on an unfinished Strat type body?

I got the neck to go withe this hybrid Strat body. Swamp ash, Tele bridge, Strat middle and HB neck pickups. I need to get that body finished and buy another neck.
