I found this website https://encycolorpedia.com/ that has pretty good descriptions of paint colors. I was looking at the difference between Daphne Blue and Taos Turquoise and I was wondering, what color natural neck wood would match a body. What I learned is:
Fender 04 / Daphne Blue / #98c6c3 Hex Color Code
The hexadecimal color code #98c6c3 is a medium light shade of cyan. In the RGB color model #98c6c3 is comprised of 59.61% red, 77.65% green and 76.47% blue. In the HSL color space #98c6c3 has a hue of 176° (degrees), 29% saturation and 69% lightness. This color has an approximate wavelength of 492.89 nm.
While:
Ford Taos Turquoise / #39c0c4 Hex Color Code
The hexadecimal color code #39c0c4 is a shade of cyan. In the RGB color model #39c0c4 is comprised of 22.35% red, 75.29% green and 76.86% blue. In the HSL color space #39c0c4 has a hue of 182° (degrees), 55% saturation and 50% lightness. This color has an approximate wavelength of 490.55 nm.
So the main difference is that TT is darker, but D has more red. But when it comes to inverting the color TT's inversion is a very reddish red with a hint of brown, while Daphne Blue's is like a very very very deep red black brown. So that makes me think bloodwood would go with TT, while for D, a rosewood or ebony fretboard would look good, if you're going for contrast.
Boy did I just overthink that.
