I took some better photos of an tele I did back in 1994. I actually ordered the parts from Warmoth's paperback catalogue. WOW!
I originally just rubbed some minwax stain and poly on this. Looked like a crap...literally. I decided to redo it a few years back. I sanded it back to bare wood and hand rubbed the blue dye/alcohol mix. I sanded a few areas and sprayed some poly creating a washed denim look. I also antiqued the neck as well.
The body is one piece maple and is super light. For maple there was some deep grain but it did not fill. I wanted it to have more of a fabric look. I am debating on if I should take off some of the shine but happy with the current state of my VERY FIRST WARMOTH!! I cannot remember what the neck pickup is but the bridge is a pearly gates...
A careful eye will see a mistake I made...I did not fix it to pay homage to my naive abilities when I first did the guitar. who can spot the error first?!?!?
