I'm not going to make it six more weeks until my bass shows up. I just can't do it.

For the third (fifth?) time in my life, I am purchasing World of Warcraft. Every time I tell myself, I can do this, I can play a game like a normal human and lead a normal human life as well. But then I get more focused on leading a normal Blood Elf life, or a normal Tauren life. Borders get fuzzy and I start talking with a drunken Dwarven accent in everyday conversation and saying "Woot," out loud.

This time I fear it will be worse, as I for once in my life have the internet at my home and thus don't have to buy coffee to play. I also now have the option to play without pants on, but I digress. I kicked alcoholism in one try, but Warcraft...

The point is, if you don't see me as much for a while... look on the server Aggramar. I'll be the one not speaking in acronyms or referencing Chuck Norris. Shouldn't be too hard to find me.

There are no normal human beings playing WoW.  Get used to it.  The beatings will continue until morale improves!~

That is why I don't even start with these kind of things! I know it will be addictive, knowing myself...
But between work and checking this forum, I just don't want to spend any more time looking at the computer screen :)

haha, Im on aggramar as well :sad1: Ive been playing for 5 years, not very addicted to it though, I probably spend about 5 hours a week playing the game spread out. I dont do raids much mostly solo stuff to relax a little after work or on the weekend.

I've been playing since beta, never taken more than six months off.

I can't practice as I had to sell off both my basses last year and I have my Warmoth isn't complete yet. I can't finish it until it comes back from being painted.

WoW is China's secret answer to population control.  Over 8 million men will now never procreate.

Try Quake Live and Battlefield Heroes: they're free and pretty fun to play. And a neat thing is that after about a month, you get fed up with all the 14-year-olds who can't spell and the no-life 20-somethings who build their entire manliness on being good at an online shooter - and then your bass is done and you haven't given Blizzard any more of your cold hard cash!

Dragon Age was a great time-waster.  It's a really well-done game, and bored MMO people seem to like it a lot (rather than going back to WoW).

I'm old.  As a kid in the 70's or 80's, my brother and I were hooked on Wizardry on the original Apple II.  Complete with using the keyboard arrow keys to navigate your characters through the world.  I remember if you did something stupid or got killed, we'd turn off the computer before the floppy drive ran.  When you rebooted, the game didn't know what happened since the last time the floppy disc refreshed, and you'd still be OK.  Then Ultima II came out, but that was in color, and we weren't as into that.
