Go to youtube to watch the other 20 something parts of the video

I think it's been posted last week on the boards, sure is extremely instructive for someone like me who's new to building guitars.

Thanks for posting the link.
These vids will come in handy when my Warmoth
Strat parts get here in a few weeks.

I watched these vids last week when they were postaed. Being a noob on here, and venturing into "building your own guitar" for the first time, I can say these vids are very educational. He goes on a bit in places but if you watch them all there is a lot of good info and advice in them.
.

Hi all... guitar's owner here again...

Well let's see, the last time this was posted we were up to about 17 vids in the series and I guessed it would go to 20 or so. I blew that one! Looks like it's going to hit 30.

Does anyone want to comment on that finish? I know it's all a little more "plain" that the average Warmoth aficianado likes, but I was going for that ambered butterscotch blonde look. It came out completely different than I imagined-- no amber in it at all. It's trans butterscotch blonde over alder. I considered that it could be the wood, but I think it's more what Warmoth has decided to call "butterscotch blonde", which may be what it looked like in 1952 when it was first sprayed.

Hello there
Nice guitar. I like the one you have. It will look great with the
vintage tint neck once put together.  :icon_thumright:
Are you planning to put a decal on the headstock???

If I'm not mistaken, what they call "butterscotch blonde" is the original nitro white-ish color back in the early 50s
(was almost white sort of like "Mary Kay" finish) turned yellow over the years...

Thanks! Yeah, just going for a simple vintage look, and hoping to play the hell out of it. I actually thought the color would turn out more like this Fender version of butterscotch blonde:

... but oh well. Guess I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Most definitely! Looks nekkid without one I think.  :)

That sounds right. I think Fender (and others) are going for the "already aged" look of the BB finish. That's where I was unclear about the color.

Butterscotch blonde changes a lot. The teles were, like mentioned earlier, more Mary Kaye-ish, but Fender started putting them out in yellow to make them resemble the older ones. That color is very inconsistent.

Hi guys...

Finally finished!  :hello2:

Hasn't been shipped yet, though.  :sad1:

Here's the last vid. Can't wait to plug her in!

Looks cool and sound good! Congrats.
I think he will be taking care of my strat next! :)

I have been following that video series since it started. It is finally nice to see it come to completion. Wonderful looking and sounding guitar. I really dig his attention to detail, along with a wealth of free information.

Thanks goes to both builder and owner for sharing this with us. :glasses10:
