*Warmoth Office Shut Down ..... Power out due to ice storm 1/19 - 1/20*

Does 5A quilted maple provide more heat than 3A when you burn it? I mean, you guys shouldn't be COLD. Maybe uncomfortable, but not cold...

But seriously, stay safe, guys...

Yip ice storms suck, they happen here occasionally in north east Texas. They usually only linger for a day or two, but anyway be safe guys..

I was at the shop earlier today.  We have partial power.  (One leg)  Not enough to run the machines or shop.  Still hoping for tomorrow.

Some areas are still out.  Believe it or not, most of the snow is already gone and we're now dealing with serious wind gusts.

My family spent part of the day Friday cutting downed trees in our neighborhood with other neighbors.  We did pretty well compared to some areas.

Glad you guys are safe.

Dear ol dad used to say, "4WD helps you go. It doesn't help you stop."

4wd vehicles actually do stop better in low traction situations. Even with no throttle being applied engine power still is being directed to the wheels. You know how a car moves when its in drive and your foot is off the brake. This gives enough resistance to the braking force to keep the wheel from locking up as easily as a nondriven wheel would. Of course this only applies to an automatic transmission vehicle and not in every situation of traction loss.

::patiently waiting for his neck has shipped Email::

so glad to hear it, hope everyone got through it ok and with no loss.

PS, post up any funny stories and lots of pictures of the ice wonderland

Over in Norway we have had a warm January compared to last year but I suspect that we'll get a very cold February. But I'm getting tired of streets covered in slippery ice.

That was one crazy ice storm for this region. We didn't lose power much where we were, but still were pretty stranded. Gave me a few days to sit and tinker on my Gecko bass for awhile though.

Glad to hear you guys are back to the land of Sawdust  :rock-on:

Here are two shots I took with my phone's camera.

One is the amount of ice on a tree in our front yard.  The second is the damage done to the top of a tree in my backyard.  You can see how much the branches have bent over.
