Warmoth neck pocket.

Pretty new here, usually a lurker.

I was talking to warmoth via Facebook, asking for a template for a warmoth strat neck.

I'm doing a Jazznaster build, doing everything but the neck myself.

Ordered a strat neck. Does anyone have an exact scale template of the warmoth strat heels and screw holes for routing a neck pocket?


My neck is probably 3 weeks away to New Zealand and I'm starting routing on the body already.

Run an Internet search with your favorite search engine. Lot's of them for sale and at least a large handful of ways to make your own.

Once you find a template you like or at least can get in a reasonable amount of time, be sure to measure it when you get it and check it against standard pocket dimensions. Sometimes they're off, and you can't put wood back. The Stewart-MacDonald part in particular I know is over-sized, so you'd end up with a sloppy pocket. Hate when that happens.

What's your source for that drawing? Nothing around here matches up to that 2" exit end of the pocket. They're all more like 2 3/32", if not 2 3/16" all the way through.

Yeah, sorry to pick you up DR6, but that radius isn't right either. Should be 5".

I'm not sure about those hole locations, either, but they're not dimensioned.

I suspect that drawing is for somebody else's neck pocket, not Fender's.

Yes, I stand corrected, the drawing was an earlier drawing before I revised it. It was used more for positioning in the beginning.

The big radius is 5"
The pocket length is 3"
The wide end is 2.187" to 2.194"

But the pocket does have a taper on the exit Cagey it's not a straight cut, tapers out to 2.125

But moreover it really depends on the neck on the fit, there's always going to be some variance. From the machining side they should all be the same, but when you add in the sanding that changes the original dimensions...
