Warmoth neck equivalent to ESP neck?

Hi guys

This's my 1st post here. I'm willing to start to assemble a Warmoth guitar soon: Strat shape, alder/maple body, maple/maple neck, Wilkinson tremolo bridge, HSS configuration, back routed. One of the few point I'm still not sure about is: I'll take a 1 11/16", compound radius, 22 frets, Warmoth Pro construction neck but... which back contour? I'm an ESP guy, my main guitars are an ESP Eclipse (4 knobs export version) and an ESP Explorer (Hetfield pre-lawsuit version) so which one, in the Warmoth standard neck contours (standard thin, fatback and boatneck) is nearest to the ESP thin U neck? I also like Fender modern C shape necks so that's a good comparison point too. I'm afraid the Warmoth Standard Thin will be too thin for what I'm used to and the fatback will be too bulky so any help will be much apreciated.

Thanks

I don't think you are going to find an exact match, but certainly close enough.  The Clapton might be your best bet.

Thanks for the reply :) and compared to the standard ones (standard Thin, Fatback, Boatneck) which one goes nearest?

I think the Standard Thin will be the closest one of the standards. Well, definitely not a Fat.

Boatneck is a hard flat V. The ESP neck on my 83 Zion feels u or c shaped and is maybe a smidge thickerr than your run of the mill fender neck, but certainly much thinner than my fatback.  I'd recommend looking at std thin or perhaps the 59 if you want something slightly beefier.

"Standard Thin" is somewhat mis-named in that it's not really thin. I mean, it's not a baseball bat, but it's not a Wizard neck, either. No noticeable V or D or offset to it. Just an all-around great neck, by my lights.

Thanks for the replies guys, you're really helping  :icon_thumright: I'm quite sure I'll go for a Standard thin.

This cite is not the pitcher of grammar and vocabulary. But that one (and those two) bother me way more than your garden variety mistakes.  I'm glad it bothers someone else too. Maybe we can insight a revolution.
