Waiting time

I have ordered a custom strat body from Warmoth along with some hardware on 1st of November. How long do you guys wait normally? It's my first Warmoth and I don't know at all the usual waiting time. The neck came here quite soon. It was in the summer though. By the way I live in Greece.

Here are the specs:
Alder Stratocaster Solid
Schaller Floyd
HSS
single battery box
contured heel

I ordered the bridge, tuners, screws and pickguard too.

I wonder if they would arrive here in December but I think they'll probably not.

According to the notice you'll see on your sales order...

WHEN WILL MY ORDER SHIP?
We do our best to meet the ship times stated below. If we run into a significant delay, we will contact you right away. Otherwise, your patience is much appreciated. We will ship the entire order together when all items are in stock.
Hardware Orders Ships in approx 2-3 business days (M-F)
Pickguard Orders Ships in approx 3-4 business days (M-F)
Build to Order Items not getting paint Ships in approx 5-6 weeks
Build to Order Items getting paint Ships in approx 10-12 weeks
Showcase Items not getting paint Ships in approx 5-6 business days (M-F)
Showcase Items getting paint Ships in approx 4-5 weeks

So, see where you fit in that list, and adjust your expectations from there.

Oops. Yeah I saw that but didn't pay attention to it in the first place. So it seems like good February! HAHA! Especially now that they have a body and a pickguard to make.

As you can see, parts that need paint are the real time sinks. Nothing can be done about it; it's a lot of "hurry up and wait" while the finish cures. Can't move on to the next step(s) until that happens. Makes "Showcase" parts more attractive in that most of that waiting time has already passed, plus they generally discount those parts 10%-20% from a custom build price.

But, the heart wants what the heart wants, so sometimes you have to do the custom build. Then, patience is the word of the day.

I was told 5 to 6 weeks for my built-to-order Soloist body, and it arrived in 3 weeks.
I was quite pleased.

Yeah my neck arrived within the month in the summer and I was really surprised. But I have to take on account that now we're closing to Christmas and I guess the work must be more these days.

The Floyd rout and the contoured heel show up pre-configured all the time, but the battery box makes it weird. Also, they can't contour the heel once it's finished.

I bought an Alder Strat body from them a year or so ago that was in the "Screamin' Deals" section simply because it had a battery box. Already finished, $195 or so. They had a pile of them at the time - some sort of OEM deal gone pear-shaped. I didn't need a battery box, but I installed one to fill the hole so it looked right. I just don't put batteries in it. Couldn't pass up a deal like that. Besides, who knows? I may lose my mind someday and want to put something onboard that requires power.

Haha! Yeah super-deal! Actually I'm a huge fan of passive pickups but I want to use the EMG-SPC. I've heard it and I like very much the twist it gives to the tone!

I think the SPC with the tone control will help me go from the metal side to the rock one. It gives a very nice low-mid chunk, it reminds me of Ritchie Blackmore.

I want to cover quite a wide range with this guitar so I think it'll be a nice addition.

My strat order with finish and binding took 9 weeks. Enjoy the wait...it's excruciating!

Thanks! Yeah it is indeed! I can't wait to put all these things together. And it's a double 1st project for me. It's my 1st Warmoth and my 1st Strat too.

The guitars I have already are an LTD MH400 and an Ibanez RG370DX.

You can put your wee... er, hooker dust in there.  :icon_thumright:

I don't keep any hooker dust. It's to be avoided at all cost. There isn't an excuse on the planet that'll fly if you have any on you. Makes you wonder why the bitches wear the shit. Any potential customers/tippers in their right mind would avoid them like the plague if they saw it, which cuts into their revenue stream. Besides, there's nothing attractive about it.

FYI - when I asked, I was told they can add a battery box route to a finished showcase body as long as it's not chambered, hollow, or a carved top, even though it's not in the configurator for finished bodies.

Cool, I'd say...still no contoured heel option to the bodies I was interested in. There was a cool looking piece of alder finished in the burst finish I want in the showcase for quite some time now but without a contoured heel there's no chance I would buy it.
