I replaced the bridge and electronics in my Variax 300 with a Warmoth body & neck.  Thanks for offering the conversion rout options!  The improvement to the playability, feel, and look of the guitar was better than I expected.

It's a standard Pro Strat neck with rosewood fingerboard.  I over filed the b-string slot on the original Corian nut Warmoth installed and replaced it with a graphite nut.  I'll likely try a bone nut next too see how it affects the tone.

Body is maple with quilt maple top and a tiger-eye dye finish, solid black on back.  It's heavy, but the maple seems to help increase the notes attack.  This improved the tracking of the Variax software on the 12-string models and with altered tunings.

It was my first experinece with Warmoth bodies and necks.  I am looking forward to my next guitar project with Warmoth parts.

Whoa, that looks a little better than a standard Variax.  It is still weird to me without pickups, but I can forget about that more looking at yours than one of the factory, bare-bones, boring as crap ones.  I would guess it feels and plays a bit better now too.  I could never get over the fact that the Variax I played felt so cheap and low budget.  I think they have a great idea, but they should make them feel less like crap and they would be everywhere.  Anyway, nice work!

this is my most recent Variax Transplant with Warmoth parts

This Variax® Transplant is a black korina top with swamp ash body, mahogany neck with pau ferro fret board and stainless steel frets(fret job was great). Sperzel tuners, Warmoth flat black pickguard and Line6 Variax 300 electronics. Thanks Warmoth - you guys made my Variax® transplant so very simple. It also sounds better than the original Variax®.
