Unlined Fretless Bass Neck Query

Quick Noob Q: On unlined fretless bass necks, are the side dots positioned at the exact fret position as opposed to in between?

On Warmoth necks the side dots fall between the fret positions, just like they would on a fretted neck. You can get more info and see pics of fretless Warmoth bass necks here. About 2/3 of the way down the page.

For unlined, the page tells the opposite...

• Fretless necks have no face position markers and the side positions markers fall at the fret positions.

On unlined fretless which the OP asked about, they are at the “fret” positions.
