Tweed Sweetness.

Although I'm a modern player, I absolutely love the look of classic Fender tweed.  So much so that when I was endorsed by ADA, I was real close to getting a pair of 4x12's covered in Tweed with the classic Oxblood grill cloth, but then things started declining, layoffs, and then my endorsement, then their doors closed.
I've found some companies that will custom make them, ie; Lopo, who got bought out by MojoTone, Peavey made a few for their Classic Series in the late 90's for about 5 minutes.  Anyway, you get the story.

Well, Carvin is doing it now and they look phenominal, and I can get them loaded with Celestion Vintage 30's too!
The rehearsal studio that I go to has a lot of Carvin amps and I'm really starting to dig the V3 head.  I can create some effects only presets in my POD XT Live and use it for channel switching the head.  Now I'm gassing for some cabinets again.

Pretty nifty!  I just wish the old-style Carvin logo didn't look like something a kid came up with while he was doodling during Social Studies...

This: +1. One of the reasons that I never got an X100B back in the day was that the logo was just so bad. I really like the modern italic one however, and if they come up with the X100M (a micro version of the X100B) I'm all over it.

When I got my Legacy 3, I was really tempted to kick in the extra to get the tweed on a 212S, but wound up just going with the basic black. A couple friends and I swing by the showroom once a month or so TFS. I'll check out the tweed stack next time I'm there and report back.

I must apologize, upon second guessing myself, I called Carvin, it is indeed the printed tolex, NOT the classic cloth.

I also called Mojotone, they indeed do have the actual Fender cloth, AND the printed Vinyl Tolex, and if you have it applied to a cabinet/housing that you order from them, you can also opt to have them lacquer it like some folks used to do to the ole Fenders.  I like exposed cloth though.

Personally I prefer the Lacquered Tweed than the non Lacquered Tweed. Fender is using both in their amp/cab line.
The Mojo guys are making excellent cabs and you can also find about a hundred cab luthiers in America, they will make you cabs with your exact dimensions and your preferred looks.

I'm diggin this one right now:

It would be neat if some of that space on top could be routed out to accomodate 2 rear loaded 2U rack ears with all the respective jacks on the back to accomodate one of these:

I'd only be using it for onstage feedback sustain anyways, just send the DI from the POD to FOH.
