Anybody have experience combining these two types of pickups? If so, what do you think? I did a search for this question and didn't find results - I found a photo of a Tele made from a butcher block with a Fender bridge humbucker and TV Jones classic neck.
Thanks for any help, I'm considering a new build. If in a strat, would a middle pickup be over kill? I know personal preference but a lot of educated people here and I'd love an opinion.
Cheers

Well, the Guitar Fetish Dream 180 boasts a sound as a cross between a Filtertron and a PAF, which has my interest for my Baritone Tele project I'm working on.
It sits at about 8k for the bridge pickup.

For a strat project, I would think a set of 3 TV Jones pickups would be quite unique sounding, and inspiring.

I know, very enticing! You mean like this? From Cosmitron - a very talented guitar player

I was thinking about 2 TV's and a humbucker (in the bridge) or 2 TV's plus a single coil size Seymour Duncan Strat 59 in the bridge. I want a 7/8 Stratocaster though: Probably look funny. Damn tough decisions. All I know is I am gassing, yet again.
I need help. Must .......find.....water...........

Thanks for pointing that out.
I'm looking for a set of humbuckers for a baritone build as well.
I was just looking at the Retrotron series.

Close but it was this one with a fender bucker in the bridge and filtertron in the neck. Maybe it's the same guitar modded? How many butcher block tele's can there be?!
