Truss rod doesn't work on my Warmoth ..what to do ?

I bought a quatersawn maple tele neck from Warmoth back in April
I tested the truss rod when I bought it but just to see if it tightens when I turn it worked

now my neck is finished and my guitar plays ok but I can't adjust the action
the strings are too high and when I tighten the rod ( turn it clockwise towards the floor ) the bow gets worse
what really should happen is the the neck should straighten and when I tighten it even more I should get a slight backbow

the truss rod works it gets tighter and tighter when I turn it but the effect is not there, perhaps is positioned wrong in the neck and the rod channel depth is not right. I'm just guessing.

I'm sucked with this so loosened the rod completely, it's the best I can do
I'm really frustrated I spent a lot of time rolling the edges and rolling the edges of frets.
the paint job took me almost a month not counting the money I put into nitro paint and getting the custom script on the head stock

can anybody suggest a solution

calm down. are you using the side adjuster or the nut in the back? the side adjuster has limited range,l ideally it should be in the middle with slight tension on the back nut before you start. or is this a traditional fender truss rod?

What construction is your neck? (total vintage, vintage modern, or pro)
The answers we can suggest vary depending on which one you have as the different constructions offer different truss rods.
If you aren't certain, the Pro will have the side adjust (fine) & a heel adjust (coarse).

It's a vintage modern single action neck
tightening the rod should straighten it or create a backbow not to make the bow deeper if I'm not mistaking, please correct me if I'm wrong

tight is only toward the floor if you are a left handed player. it's meant to be interperated as clockwise as you are looking at the top of the fastener(the headstock end). if you turn a right handed tread clockwise the part you are turning moves away from you. so if your vantage point is from the guitar body and you turn the wrench clockwise the rod is moving towards the headstock which is loose. you want to go clockwise from the headstock end looking at the body, like it's lying on a bench.

if it feels tight you may be contacting the walnut plug and at risk of causing damage if you force it. if you go in the proper direction it may feel loose for a few turns keep going.

While facing the trussrod nut... righty tighty, lefty loosy.

Keep in mind - its always best to LOOSEN the strings before making adjustments to the truss rod nut.  That way, you'll only have wood tension to deal with, not wood AND string tension.

Go about 1/4 turn at a time... retension strings, and recheck.

so, that means that if i look at the headstock, look down towards the body, i should turn right to tighten it, in order to make i bow less, right?
i just wanna make sure i don't screw anything up, nothing else  :icon_thumright:

If you tighten the truss rod, it will bow more. Unless it's already relieved, in which case it will head toward being straight/flat, then start bowing.

Tightening is always clockwise, while loosening is the opposite, regardless of whether you're looking at a headstock, heel, or side adjustment.

You said it worked when you got it, now after finishing it doesn't. Sounds like you got some finish material down in the truss rod channel and thats binding things up,

We've had this issue of stuck truss rods before, and the cure has been support your neck at the heel and close to the nut, and slightly and firmly , give yer neck a shove in the middle, I know this sounds crazy, I had to do it to one of mine, I heard a pop and from then on it has worked flawlessly.

How did we get from September 29th to right now? If he's been tightening it for three months, it's probably tight by now.  :dontknow:
