I took my car to a race track.  :icon_thumright:  Here's my write-up.

Ha, sounds like you had a blast. I wonder if my 1989 Nissan pickup can hit 140...

Most anything can, the computer won't let them, but I don't know about the computers of 20 year old cars.  It's all in the gearing.

And BTW, this isn't directed at you, but the highest number on the speedometer is not how fast or slow a vehicle can go.  It's the whole, "But these go to 11" mentality.  We've all heard it.  "How fast will it go?"  "We'll the speedometer says 120."  I'm gonna get a different speedometer to make my car go faster.

Well, that is quite possible. Back in the 80's there were "Safety Nazi's" in Congress that put a limit on the speedo of 85mph. However this did not limit the car to going only 85 mph. That was only to psychologically make you think that was the limit of the vehicle, in reality the cars would actually go much faster... :icon_biggrin:

Tjheres no way a Nisan 4 banger will hit close to even 110, governor or no governor,  flat out, even on the friggin Bonneville Salt Flats. Im assuming you dont have the 6 cylander, which is a real wolf in sheeps clothing, but even that would top out at about 120-125 ( engine go boom -clanka clanka clanka - pshhhhh).
I mean, unless its modified for circle track or something., which i'm assuming it is not.

Duuuuuuude, you seriously need to read up on things......

The 2009 Nissan GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that generates 473 hp and 434 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission routes this prodigious power to the ground via an advanced all-wheel-drive system.

In our instrumented testing, the 3,836-pound GT-R teleported to 60 mph in a drama-free 3.3 seconds, thanks to its launch control function, and turned in a blistering 11.6-second quarter-mile at nearly 121 mph.

Sorry bro.  miscommunication ; no , Im well aware of the potential of the engine. I  am sorry , i was just getting on Max..with his 140 MPH stock 4 cylander Nissan.
Good on ya with that Nissan GT-r!. Ya know, I used to watch the 510's at sebring  may years ago bring it with the Stuttgart  six cylanders in the GTU class. Very formidable powerplant that Nissan manufatures, no question.
You know what, those things are freakin botle rockets. They  can and do compete in top fuel elimiantions with big block chevys. dodges and fords..
Course, Im a Yota man myself.

I once had a 4-cyl Ford Escort Wagon up to 110 before I let off.  It took 15 minutes (slight exageration) to get up to that speed, and apparently there's a little fudge-factor in the speed rating of tires too.  They should've blown apart.

I was just talking to the husband of my mom, they're going to Germany and rent a car... I said: "rent a F%$#¨&@ Ferrari or Porsche and run like devil on AutoBahns" :laughing7:

Looks like they're getting really old, they won't

I have a jacked up WRX wagon myself, it's an '02 with a modded '07 Sti motor.

Won't hang with the GTR of course, but it put 300hp (320 tq) to the wheels on a dyno.
The look of surprise when the battle wagon shows it teeth is priceless.

I'm running stock wheels for further stealth appeal.

Yup, it was an absolute blast!  Thanks for the kind words.

Speedventures has posted everyone's best lap times for the day.  Mine was 2:09.275.  http://www.speedventures.com/results/Default.aspx

Look at those poor Shelbys, GT500's, M3's, and 911's that I ate for lunch.   :icon_biggrin:

I was in the novice group (lowest of 5 categories).  There was another GT-R there being run in the advanced group.  He got a 1:53.416.  Something to look forward to.  :glasses9:
