I'm a bit torn on which of the following projects to tackle next, so I figured to put it to a vote.
  1. A simple rear-routed HH Jazzmaster build with a CBS headstock, clear satin finished swamp ash body, wenge neck with a ziricote fretboard - almost a vintage modern JM take on a Blackmachine
  2. A chambered walnut body + rosewood top Tele with a rosewood neck + fretboard, single f-hole - also rear-routed for 2 humbuckers
  3. A 25" 7 string using that screamin' deal neck, swamp ash body with a gloss rosewood lam top

Well ... I went with the JM if you don't have one already. They are really comfortable. Though that tele sounds like it would be gorgeous. Tough choice.

I’m wondering what the tele made from walnut and rosewood would be like. Are you considering that combination for aesthetics or some other motivation?

Aesthetics mostly, I was trying to get as close to an all Rosewood tele as possible since it's not a regularly available body wood option. I've also fallen in love with the rosewood neck that I have on my MJT/Warmoth Cabronita, so that's weighing in heavily as well.

I'm wondering the same thing. I think that would be a killer look, and I love Walnut for furniture making, just not sure how it would be on a guitar, and the rosewood top and fret board would be beautiful. Maybe a roasted flame maple neck with rosewood fretboard. You could darken the maple up a bit with some Danish Oil to match the walnut pretty close I bet. That's a thought for my VIP build........

A Rosewood / Walnut chambered telecaster was recently posted in the gallery.
Thanks for that, was gonna search to see if it had been done, but you saved me the trouble. Looks absolutely fantastic, and I'm already a Danish Oil fan. A serious contender for my VIP build. I'm wondering how to handle the binding though since it's a carved top. Would seem better with a laminate accent line, but not offered. Maybe black binding.

Or white laminate sandwich?
It doesn't show that's offered on the VIP, only binding. I guess because of the carved top. In fact it doesn't even offer Rosewwod as a Lam Top option. I may need to call them.

I don’t know about Walnut as a body wood. AFAIK it’s more suited as a neck wood. I just feel like it’s going to have a very bright and dry tone.
