I know he was married to Whitney Houston or something, but what did he do?
(I don't know anything about pop culture and celebrities.  :blob7:)

She was quite aware of her own dark side, and at various points almost bragged about it, and - she felt she had things under control. Bobby Brown said that she married him to clean up her image - which most people found ridiculous. But she was well on the way to trouble with substances when she married him - all her family, friends and advisers were telling her NO! NO! NO! so she married a man who told her Yes, it's O.K. It's a terrible shame, that was a once-in-a-generation voice. The second "I" in this - the note she hits at 1:56 - if that don't ring yer bell, you don't have a bell. Not to mention the third run through the chorus at 3:19.

Can't fake that in the studio.

What breaks my heart is that the woman had internal demons that could only be exorcised with the heroic over-use of chemical solutions that she knew well and good would kill her. The loss of her talent is a tragedy for the world, but that's just us being selfish and is nothing compared to the ongoing personal pain she had to have suffered to drive her to giving up life due to an inability to find inner peace.

Thank you, clearerphish - I was beginning to think I was the only A-hole crass enough to post a joke about the admittedly profoundly talented Ms. Houston's admittedly tragic passing, and the media-circus and personal troubles that constituted the bulk of her later career.

I would be okay with being that A-hole, but misery loves company.

I'm definitely that a-hole too.  I laughed.
