Hi all,

This is my first post, I was waiting to place my order to officially join the community  :toothy10:

english is not my native language so I'll try and do my best to be clear  :icon_biggrin:

Beeing a lefty this is a custom order so you will have to wait to get the first pics

I have a partscaster telecaster custom 72 that has a mij fender neck and warmoth body.
I love the guitar but wanted to create my view of the same guitar and add some comfy contours at the same time...

here are some details:

I ordered a custom control plate from 920d in order to fit the "custom 72" electronic into a classic telecaster body and asked them to add a coil split for the wide range humbucker as I will be using a Creamery pickup set.

I contacted MJT for a closet clean finish in shoreline gold

You will find some more info under regarding the warmoth parts  :icon_thumright:

Ho and Cagey you can keep your kidney I picked the lovely zircote fretboard  :icon_biggrin:

Hehe! Well, good. Probably should hang on to my kidneys anyway, what with their long suffering efforts to sustain me during a misspent youth and an irresponsible adulthood  :laughing7:

That's going to look fantastic against a shoreline gold body. I'm looking forward to seeing pics.

Well, I'm looking forward to your build. It'll be a fine one. Welcome to the forum.

And you can stop worrying about your English. It's fine. Heck, as long as you put a couple key words in each sentence, we'll know what you mean. :glasses10:

I may have to keep my liver for the same reasons  :icon_biggrin:

I hope that it will look nice with the shoreline gold, I think that I may go the satin route on this one.

Thanks for the kind welcome guys, I'll stick to my decent english then  :icon_biggrin:

The only thing I don't know yet is if I want a matching headstock with the body color or pickguard or if I will keep it as it (wenge)  :icon_scratch:

An update on this topic  :)

the parts left warmoth and arrived at MJT for the body finish.

They sent me a few pics and I must say that I really like what I see, I can't wait to get the finished parts my way but I'm already in love with the neck  :cool01:

With no disrespect for your choices intended, I have to ask - why shoreline gold, when the lumber is itself so lovely?

I had no clue that the wood would be that nice looking TBH, but I prefer a solid gold finish  :icon_thumright:

Well, then, I think your way forward is clear:  Get another body and paint it gold, and build a clear-finished telecaster around this one.

Simple!

I'm an "only one" by shape guitar guy so I will use and abuse it until the nitro paint goes back to natural!  :icon_jokercolor:

That's a win-win regarding my preferences and yours  :icon_biggrin:

Don't know how I missed this thread, but WOW, that's some beautiful lumber! Neck is absolutely gorgeous, and the body ain't no slouch either! If it was me, I'd rethink the painting that body, but I understand your preferences, and Shorline Gold will look great with that neck.  :icon_thumright:

I'm updating as I received my parcel from MJT  :blob7:

and here is a short video from the unboxing (spoiler: I'm not a pro at these  )

Looks a nice set of parts.

Personally, I like new finishes to look new. Probably has something to do with the fact some of my guitars are old enough to have cracked like that through wear and tear. It doesn't mean I can't appreciate the work on this body though. Should look good when it is done.

I hear you, nothing beats true aging  :icon_thumright:

But I'm in my early 30's, to get such a result I could have waited quite some time (specially with poly finish  :icon_biggrin:) or... someone should have bought a guitar for me as a newborn gift  :toothy12:

What a fine combination that neck and body make. This will be a fine guitar.
