Telecaster Output Jack Size

Hey guys,

So I ordered parts for my first build ever and I'm already kicking myself for being an idiot.  I accidentally ordered a telecaster with a 3.4"/19mm output jack hole and my 19mm Switchcraft output jack doesn't fit.  I also got a prewired control plate from a buddy of mine and the jack doesn't fit either.  I was really hoping to go solderless for this build and I'm stuck. I'm really bummed out, the candy tangerine body I got came out awesome.  What options do I have?

Thanks

One option is to carefully sand the hole large enough to let the jack fit, and then use a jack cover plate to cover up any mistakes.  I'm sure others here will offer a more elegant solution.

Actually, that's about the best way rick2. If the jack won't fit in the hole, you have to enlarge the hole. And the safest way to do that is with a piece of wood dowel wrapped with 180-220 grit sandpaper and carefully enlarge the hole. Try to stay parallel to the sides of the hole and work your way around it carefully. It doesn't look like it'll take alot to do the job. Patience is the key. Good luck with it, any questions don't hesitate to ask.    :headbang:
