Tele Pickups

I don't think so. I believe they are a little bit smaller than a normal single coil.

I assume you're looking for something to put in your Tele... what type of sound are you looking for?

I was planning on building a tele and am just gathering information right now.  I'm not really all that familiar with them other than playing a few at a music store here and there.  No real technical knowledge.  I was just toying with the idea of a Seymour Duncan Parallel Axis bridge humbucker and the matching single coil in the neck but I was unsure if the neck pickup was going to fit without doing a custom order with a larger neck pickup spot.

So what type of sound are you wanting to achieve? If you want the Tele twang but a little hotter and noise-canceling, I'd recommend the Joe Bardens. If you really want a heavier sound though, I'd recommend going for full size humbuckers in both bridge and neck.

If you are going to use a pickguard, get the neck position routed for a humbucker.  It will accomodate the Tele neck SC, Strat neck SC, and standard humbucker.  Just spring for a correctly routed pickguard for any forseeable neck pickup change.

If no pickguard, disregard.

Good advice...

Don't fret about not being able to use a Strat-sized pickup there.

There are numbers of people out there that wind these pickups. You can be picky and get exactly what you want.
The good choices are mind boggling.

Lindy Fralin makes outstanding pickups and will wind them to your preference. I have a set of his in my strat.

Bardens are great , that's what Danny Gatton used ( Tele God extrodinaire)

When ordering from either the Showcase or custom, you can spec any neck PU route you want. Either follow Super Turbo's advice about an HB route if you are going to use a pickguard or narrow the choice down and get the specific PU route you wish.

Even if it's already routed for a tele neck? I just assumed if it was already routed, that's it.

The Barden pickups are fabulous. I'm getting one for the bridge of my soon-to-arrive (hopefully) thinline. A full-size Duncan 59 humbucker is going in the neck. Should be interesting...
